Accessibility: Pick-A-Pumpkin Patch on Lazy Acres Farm is a fun experience for people of all abilities. We strive to make as much of our farm as accessible as possible. The corn maze and farm yard itself, however, are on unpaved farm ground. Wheel chairs, strollers and wagons can be brought on premises and are able to complete the corn maze, but the ground can be bumpy in spots.
Restrooms: There are porta potties and a hand-washing station on site at Lazy Acres. There are no indoor restrooms available.
Money: Lazy Acres accepts cash, debit cards, credit cards and checks. Credit and debit card receipts read "Northland Quality Water" since they sponsor our pumpkin barn.
Attire: Northern Minnesota has a variety of weather during September and October. We recommend dressing in layers and be prepared for cold weather. We also recommend wearing closed-toe shoes. You'll be on a farm, and dressing appropriately helps you better enjoy the experience.
Pets: We have pets, yet we ask you to leave your pets home.
Weather: We are open during most types of weather including rain. We need to cancel the bulk of our outdoor activities when it rains including hayrides due to muddy trails, and our indoor activities are limited. Extreme or unexpected weather can force us to close at any time.
Are there refunds due to rain? No - we remain open, despite weather conditions. Consult a weather source for current conditions, and choose your day carefully. The threat of rain may mean that we are less crowded, but it could also leave you wet and muddy if you decide to brave the elements. Admissions are non-refundable. In the event of sudden rainstorms or extreme conditions, check with Admissions before you leave the farm to see about the possibility of a rain discount voucher to return another day.
How many acres is Lazy Acres Farm? 400 acres, most of which is wooded. We have a back forty that we use for hay, and smaller fields for our corn and pumpkin patch.
How many acres of pumpkins are planted? We only plant a few acres of pumpkins, and we partner with other local farmers who like to grow pumpkins for fun, too!
What varieties of pumpkins do you grow? We choose a diverse mixture of pumpkin varieties in order to offer a selection of pumpkins with different characteristics. We make sure to plant tiny pumpkins, large pumpkins, with every size, color & shape in between.
When are pumpkins planted? We plant the pumpkins in June in order to have them mature in late September.
What attractions are included with the admissions price? General admission includes: unlimited trips through our corn maze, tractor-drawn hayride past the pumpkin patch, pumpkin-chunkin' slingshot, barrel-train ride, play areas, pumpkin playground, and nature trail. Look at the Farm Fun page for more information.
Are there group rates? Yes - see the Groups page for more information.
Is there a discount for visiting more than once during a single year? We offer a season pass that saves you money if you visit our Fun Farm or Night Lite Maze more than twice. They are available at the admissions counter.
